MEDICARE

Medicare is a federal program that will pay for a short-term rehab stay at a skilled nursing facility after an individual meets the Medicare qualifications.
These include a minimum of a three-night stay in a hospital and a need for skilled nursing care.
During their rehab stay at the nursing facility they may receive therapy (physical/occupational/speech) at least 5 days a week as tolerated, as well as daily nursing services.

MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLANS (HMO/PPO/FEE-FOR-SERVICE)

These health plans are run by Medicare-approved private insurance companies and take the place of traditional Medicare.
Each individual’s health plan has a different policy that can vary from traditional Medicare, especially when pertaining to a Skilled Nursing Facility.
These policies must be verified by the Skilled Nursing Facility representative and may require pre-authorization at times.

MEDICAID

Medicaid is available to certain low-income residents who fit into an eligibility group that is recognized by federal and state law.
Our knowledgeable business office staff will assist in the lengthy application process to help ensure approval.

LONG TERM CARE (LTC) POLICIES AND PRIVATE PAY

Long Term Care insurance policies are purchased by an individual or family usually years before they need long-term care.
Each Long Term Care policy is different so it is very important to keep information and paperwork on your policy to have a better understanding of what you or your loved one qualify for.
Normally, a resident pays privately, and then the policy reimburses the individual or family the amount their policy is in agreement to. A person may also reside in a skilled nursing facility and pay privately.
Each facility’s rates are different so it is important to request this information when beginning your search for the next level of care.
